Car shipping in Mesa: the East Valley's winter capital

Mesa receives more cars from the upper Midwest each fall than any city in Arizona. The RV resorts and park-model communities along US-60 and Main Street east of Power Road, the active-adult developments in Leisure World, Sunland Village and the Superstition foothills, and the newer subdivisions in Eastmark and the Gateway area fill each winter with residents from Minnesota, the Dakotas, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan and the Pacific Northwest, and the car arrives a week before they do. Cubs spring training at Sloan Park adds a February wave. Mesa shares the Phoenix carrier hub and its prices, and East Valley deliveries are usually the first drops on a Valley load.

The rest of the year is relocations to the aerospace and defense employers around Falcon Field and Gateway, ASU Polytechnic students, and families in Gilbert, Chandler and Queen Creek, which are on the same loads. Mesa is flat, gridded, dry and built for cars, and almost every address is a driveway pickup. The quote form above is set to Mesa; add the other end of the trip and your vehicle for a range.

Pickup and delivery in Mesa and the East Valley

Nearly every address takes a 75-foot truck. West Mesa, the Dobson Ranch and Fiesta areas, central Mesa's grid, Red Mountain, Las Sendas, Eastmark, the Gateway area, Apache Junction, Gilbert, Chandler and Queen Creek are driveway pickups wherever the street lets the truck turn. The gated communities, which is most of the newer developments and all of the active-adult ones, admit a delivery truck with a call from the resident or meet the driver at the visitor lane; it does not change the price.

The RV resorts and park-model communities are their own routine. Most have a receiving area or a wide entrance road where haulers unload, and the office is used to signing for residents who have not yet arrived. Name the office or a neighbor at booking, send them the pickup photographs and the driver's number, and the car is parked at the lot when you land. Golf carts cannot ride on the car hauler unless they are street-legal LSVs with a VIN; your specialist will check.

The exceptions are downtown Mesa's older blocks and a few streets in the historic districts, where the driver names a lot on Main Street or Country Club Drive. Phoenix-Mesa Gateway's lots on the south side and Sky Harbor's hotel lots on 44th Street are the usual airport handovers.

The sun is the year-round fact. A car sitting outside all season wants a windshield shade and a tire-pressure check after the first hot week. A car left in Mesa through the summer should be covered or garaged with the battery on a tender and insurance kept active; a dead battery in October is the most common reason a fall pickup becomes a winch job. Belongings stay under about 100 pounds, below the window line, uninsured.

Why AutoShippingUS

Why Mesa drivers choose AutoShippingUS

  • The upper Midwest lanes, priced for the season

Minneapolis, Chicago, Detroit and the Dakotas to Mesa run from October to April, and East Valley addresses are the first drops when the truck comes off I-17. We quote the window and price for that lane, not a generic Phoenix number.

  • Resort offices contacted at booking

Resorts along US-60 each have their own receiving area and office hours. Your specialist collects the office contact at booking and the handover is confirmed when the truck is assigned.

  • Spring training and the return trip, planned together

February's Cubs wave and the April return are the two tight windows here. Book the northbound leg with the southbound one and both are priced as a pair and held on the schedule.
