Phoenix is where the Midwest's second winter begins. From October through December, trucks from Chicago, Minneapolis, Detroit, Denver and Seattle come down I-17 from Flagstaff or in on I-10 from the east and unload across the Valley, and from late March they collect the same cars for the trip home. In between, the city's relocation economy, the tech and health-care employers in the East Valley, Arizona State, Luke Air Force Base, and the largest auction lanes in the West keep the lane busy in every month. The carrier yards in Tolleson turn trucks around daily.
It is also the easiest big city in the country for a car hauler. The streets are wide and on a grid, there is no snow and almost no rain, the freeway loops reach every suburb, and the communities were built around cars. A pickup is typically assigned within one to three days, and the only real planning is the season and, for a car that will sit outside, the sun. The quote form above is set to Phoenix; add the other end of the trip and your vehicle for a range.

Nearly everywhere is a driveway pickup. The East Valley, Mesa, Tempe, Chandler, Gilbert and Queen Creek; the north, Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, Cave Creek and Anthem; the West Valley, Glendale, Peoria, Surprise, Goodyear, Buckeye and the Sun Cities; and Ahwatukee and Laveen to the south all take a 75-foot truck wherever the street lets it turn. The gated communities, which are most of the newer developments and all of the active-adult ones, admit a delivery truck with a call from the resident or meet the driver at the visitor lane; it does not change the price.
The exceptions are few. Downtown's towers use a loading dock or a lot nearby. The historic districts along Central Avenue, Willo, Coronado and Encanto, have narrower streets with mature trees, and the driver names a lot on Seventh Street or Seventh Avenue. The mountain neighborhoods, on Camelback, in the Preserve and around Piestewa Peak, are steep enough that the handover is at the bottom of the hill. Sky Harbor's hotel lots on 44th Street and along I-10 are the usual handover for anyone flying the same day.
Luke Air Force Base sets its own rules; the driver meets you outside the gate on Litchfield Road or at your off-base address. Tell your specialist the report date and it goes on the booking.
The sun is the local fact. A car that will sit outside all season wants a windshield shade and a tire-pressure check after the first hot week; a car left in the Valley through the summer while you are back north should be garaged or covered with the battery on a tender and insurance kept active. A dead battery in October is the most common reason a pickup becomes a winch job. Belongings stay under about 100 pounds, below the window line, uninsured.

Chicago, Minneapolis and Detroit to the Valley run from October to April, and the Tolleson yards turn trucks around most days of the year. We schedule a Phoenix pickup as a stop on a load and quote the window that goes with it.
Some gates admit a hauler, some want a visitor-lane handover, and the RV resorts along US-60 have their own receiving areas. Your specialist confirms which applies when the truck is assigned.
Give your specialist the buyer number and the lot's release process is handled with the auction or dealership before the truck is assigned, so a car bought Tuesday is off the lot before storage fees start.

One to three days. The Valley is the Southwest's carrier hub, with I-10 running through it and I-17 bringing the Midwest lane down from Flagstaff, and the yards in Tolleson turn trucks around daily.
Very few. Downtown's towers, the historic districts near Central Avenue and the steeper streets on Camelback and in the Phoenix Mountains Preserve. Everywhere else in the Valley is direct to the door.

Not the shipment itself. A car that will sit outside all summer should be garaged or covered with the battery on a tender, and tire pressures checked after the first hot week. Carriers run the lane in every month.
