Scottsdale ships a different kind of car. The golf communities of North Scottsdale fill each winter with residents from Chicago, Minneapolis, Detroit, Seattle and Denver who bring the second car and, often, the nice one; the January collector auctions draw hundreds of enclosed single-vehicle shipments from every state; and the garages in DC Ranch, Silverleaf and Paradise Valley hold cars that never travel on an open deck. The result is one of the highest enclosed shares in the country and a carrier network that keeps hard-sided trailers with liftgates in the Valley from October to April.
The rest of the traffic is ordinary and easy: relocations to the city's health-care and finance employers, families in the newer developments along Loop 101, students at ASU's nearby campuses, and buyers collecting cars from the dealer row on Frank Lloyd Wright. Scottsdale shares the Phoenix carrier hub twenty minutes to the west, so a pickup is assigned within one to three days in any month. The quote form above is set to Scottsdale; add the other end of the trip and your vehicle for a range.

Almost every address is a driveway pickup. South Scottsdale's grid, the neighborhoods along Shea and Cactus, McCormick Ranch, Gainey Ranch, Kierland, Grayhawk, DC Ranch, Silverleaf, Troon, Desert Mountain, the Boulders and the developments along Pima Road all take a 75-foot truck wherever the street lets it turn. The gated communities, which is most of North Scottsdale, admit a delivery truck with a call from the resident or meet the driver at the visitor lane; it does not change the price. Paradise Valley's estate lots are wide but the streets are winding and some are private; the driver confirms the spot the day before.
The exceptions are Old Town's blocks, where the handover is at a lot on Scottsdale Road or at the Fashion Square garages, and the streets that climb the McDowell foothills, where a loaded hauler cannot stop safely and the handover is at the bottom. Sky Harbor's hotel lots on 44th Street are the usual airport handover; Scottsdale Airport's FBO lots on the north side work for customers arriving privately.
Auction week is its own season. Enclosed carriers into the Valley are booked out by mid-December for mid-January, and single-vehicle enclosed loads with a dedicated policy are available for the higher-value entries. Book in November, tell your specialist the auction and the consignment date, and the delivery is timed to the lot's receiving window.
The sun is the year-round fact. A car that will sit outside all season wants a shade and a tire check after the first hot week; a car left through the summer should be garaged with the battery on a tender.

Before you book a classic, an exotic or an auction consignment, your specialist checks that a hard-sided carrier with a liftgate is available in the Valley for your dates, so the car is not waiting a week for a trailer that happens to be passing.
North Scottsdale's communities each decide whether a hauler comes through the gate or meets you in the visitor lane. Your specialist confirms which applies when the truck is assigned.
The January consignment windows fill the Valley's enclosed capacity. Book in November and your specialist secures the enclosed carrier early, with a cargo insurance limit matched to the car's value.

One to three days. Scottsdale shares the Phoenix carrier network and sits on Loop 101, twenty to thirty minutes from the Tolleson yards, so it is on every Valley load.
More than almost anywhere in the West. Collector cars for the January auctions, golf-community residents' cars and exotics for the North Scottsdale garages make up a large share of the winter loads.
