San Jose's car-shipping story is about where people go. Silicon Valley sends relocations to Austin, Seattle, Denver, Dallas and Phoenix in volume every month, tech workers and families following employers and housing costs out of the valley, and the trucks that carry them leave the yards in Fremont and along US-101 south weekly. A large share of those cars are EVs, which is why the drivers on these lanes know transport mode on every model. The rest of the traffic is students at San Jose State and Santa Clara, corporate transfers arriving from out of state, and retirees leaving for the Sierra foothills, Arizona and Nevada.
The valley floor is easy for a truck. Most of San Jose, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, Cupertino, Milpitas and Morgan Hill is wide, flat and gridded, and the pickup is at the driveway. The exceptions are downtown, a few older neighborhoods, and the hills in Los Gatos, Saratoga and Almaden. The quote form above is set to San Jose; add the other end of the trip and your vehicle for a range.

Most addresses are driveway pickups. Evergreen, Berryessa, North San Jose, Cambrian, Blossom Valley, Santa Teresa, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, Cupertino, Milpitas, Campbell's newer streets, Morgan Hill and Gilroy take a 75-foot truck wherever the street lets it turn without reversing. Gated communities in Evergreen and the Almaden foothills admit a delivery truck with a call from the resident or meet the driver at the gate; it does not change the price.
The exceptions are meeting points. Downtown and the SoFA district use a garage exit or a lot on a wide street. The Rose Garden's narrower blocks, Willow Glen's older streets with mature trees and Japantown mean a lot on a main road, and the driver names one the day before. Los Gatos, Saratoga, Monte Sereno and the Almaden hills are steep and winding enough that the handover is at the bottom, usually at a plaza on Highway 9 or Almaden Expressway. San Jose International's hotel lots on North First Street and Airport Boulevard are the usual handover for anyone flying the same day.
Company campuses come up on relocation bookings. Carriers do not usually enter them; the driver meets you at a visitor lot or a nearby wide street, and your specialist arranges it with the security desk's number.
EVs are on most San Jose bookings. Ship at 30 to 60 percent charge, show the driver how to put the car in transport or neutral mode, and know the weight is already in the price if you declared the model. Belongings stay under about 100 pounds, below the window line, uninsured; on a household move the boxes go with the movers. The FasTrak comes off the windshield. A car leaving California keeps its title with you and a financed or leased car crosses state lines without lender approval.
Weather at this end is a footnote. Winter storms over Donner Pass can hold an I-80 eastbound truck for a day; drivers use I-5 and I-40 instead when it closes, and nothing is charged.

Silicon Valley's three biggest destination lanes carry steady relocation volume year-round, and we quote a San Jose pickup for any of them at the lane rate with the short window that volume allows.
Transport mode, charge level and weight go on every San Jose EV booking, and your specialist confirms that the assigned carrier has moved your model before the truck is dispatched.
Whether the car is at a company visitor lot or a house in the Saratoga hills, the handover spot is confirmed when the truck is assigned, with the driver's number, not on the morning.

888-706-8784Roughly $1,100–$1,500 to Austin, $750–$1,050 to Seattle, $1,100–$1,475 to Dallas, $1,500–$2,050 to New York and $625–$900 to Phoenix for a running sedan on an open carrier. Enclosed adds 40–60%; SUVs and pickups 12–20%.
One to three days. San Jose shares the Bay Area carrier network with yards in Fremont and along US-101 south, and Silicon Valley's outbound relocations keep trucks leaving weekly.
Downtown, the Rose Garden's narrower streets, Willow Glen's older blocks and the hills in Los Gatos, Saratoga and Almaden. Cupertino, Sunnyvale, Santa Clara, Milpitas, Evergreen, Morgan Hill and most of the valley floor are direct to the door.
One of the busiest relocation lanes in the country, along with San Jose to Seattle and Denver. Trucks run all three weekly and the prices are competitive for the distance.
More than almost anywhere. Ship at 30–60% charge, show the driver transport mode, and expect the weight to be in the price if you declared the model.
May through August for relocations. November through February is cheapest apart from the holiday weeks.
Usually at a visitor lot or a nearby street rather than inside the campus. Give your specialist the campus and the security desk's number, and the driver arranges a spot.
