Almost every car hauler crossing the southern half of the country passes through Dallas–Fort Worth. I-20 and I-30 bring trucks from the east, I-35 from the north and south, and the I-10 and I-40 lanes from California feed in from El Paso and Amarillo. The carrier yards in Grand Prairie and along I-20 turn those trucks around daily, which makes the Metroplex one of the fastest places in the country to get a pickup and one of the best priced for any distance.
The customers are mostly moving house. The corporate headquarters corridor in Plano, Frisco and Las Colinas draws relocations from California, the Northeast and Chicago; families follow school calendars into Southlake, McKinney and Prosper; students arrive at SMU and UT Dallas; and Texas buyers collect rust-free cars from Los Angeles, Phoenix and Florida. Add the Metroplex's auction lanes and dealer groups, and the lane runs busy in every month. The quote form above is set to Dallas; add the other end of the trip and your vehicle for a range.

Dallas is built for trucks. The northern suburbs, Plano, Frisco, McKinney, Allen, Prosper, Richardson and Carrollton, the mid-cities, Irving, Las Colinas, Grapevine, Southlake, Colleyville and Flower Mound, and Arlington, Mansfield and Cedar Hill to the south are driveway pickups wherever the street lets a 75-foot truck turn without reversing. Gated communities are common in the newer developments and usually admit a delivery truck with a call from the resident; where the HOA does not, the driver meets you at the nearest plaza.
Inside the loop is different. Uptown's towers, Highland Park and University Park's narrower streets, the M Streets, Deep Ellum, Bishop Arts and downtown mean a lot on a main road or a garage exit, and the driver names one the day before. DFW's hotel lots on the north and south entries and Love Field's on Mockingbird Lane are the usual handovers for anyone flying the same day.
Weather is rarely the problem. A January ice storm can close I-20 and I-35 for a morning, and drivers wait rather than drive on it. Spring hail is the other North Texas fact, worth an enclosed trailer for a car you would not want dented. Neither is charged as a delay. Traffic on 635 and the High Five at rush hour is, as everywhere, something drivers schedule around.
Two more notes. Belongings stay under about 100 pounds, below the window line, and are not insured; on a household move the boxes go with the movers. And a car arriving from another state needs Texas registration and a state inspection afterwards, which are your errand and have nothing to do with the carrier.

The Metroplex is on every lane, so we quote a Dallas pickup as a stop on a departing load with the short window that goes with it. Expedited pickup within 48 hours can be arranged when a job start makes the date immovable.
Give your specialist the buyer number and the lot's release process is handled with the auction or dealership before the truck is assigned, so the car leaves before storage fees start.
The same lane to a rural Texas address costs more because the truck detours; to the Metroplex it does not. We show you which one you are paying for before you enter a phone number.

One to two days, among the fastest in the country. Nearly every east–west lane passes through the Metroplex, and the carrier yards in Grand Prairie and along I-20 turn trucks around daily.
Uptown, Highland Park's narrower streets, Deep Ellum, Bishop Arts and the M Streets. Plano, Frisco, McKinney, Allen, Richardson, Irving, Arlington, Southlake and Flower Mound are direct to the door.
Usually, with a call to the gate from the resident or the driver. Where the HOA does not admit trucks, the driver meets you at the nearest plaza; it does not change the price.
May through August, for corporate relocations and school-calendar moves. November through February is the cheapest, apart from the holiday weeks.
Rarely. A January ice storm can shut the roads for a morning and a spring hailstorm is worth an enclosed trailer for a car you care about. Carriers wait out both at no charge.
Yes; the Metroplex has some of the largest auction lanes in the country. Book the day the sale closes and give your specialist the lot's release process.
