More cars leave Los Angeles on a hauler than any other city. Relocations to Texas, Arizona, Nevada, the Pacific Northwest and the East Coast, students, corporate transfers, retirees, dealers moving inventory, and buyers in every state collecting rust-free California cars all ship from the basin every day. The carrier yards in Carson, Fontana and Sun Valley load trucks for I-10 and I-40 every morning, which is why a pickup here is typically assigned within a day or two and outbound prices are among the most competitive in the country for any distance.
The basin is also one of the harder places for a 75-foot truck to stop, and where you live decides how the pickup works. The Valley, the South Bay, Long Beach, Orange County and the Inland Empire have streets built for it. The Westside, Hollywood, the hillsides, Silver Lake, Echo Park and downtown do not, and the handover happens at a big-box lot near a freeway. Drivers who work Los Angeles have a regular spot for every neighborhood. The quote form above is set to Los Angeles; add the other end of the trip and your vehicle for a range.

The suburbs are driveway pickups. The San Fernando Valley from Woodland Hills to Burbank, the South Bay from Torrance to Long Beach, the San Gabriel Valley, Orange County from Anaheim to Irvine and Mission Viejo, and the Inland Empire from Ontario to Riverside and Temecula all take a truck wherever the street lets it turn without reversing. Gated communities in Calabasas, Porter Ranch, Irvine and the Inland Empire admit a delivery truck with a call from the resident or meet the driver at the gate.
The core and the hills are meeting points. Santa Monica, Venice, Brentwood, West Hollywood, Hollywood, the Hollywood Hills, Beverly Hills' flats and hills, Silver Lake, Echo Park, Los Feliz and downtown have narrow streets, hills, low branches and no room to turn, and the driver names a lot near the 405, the 10, the 101 or the 110. Regulars include the big-box lots in Culver City, the Grove area, Glendale and Burbank, and the garage exits at larger buildings. LAX's hotel lots on Century Boulevard and Burbank's on Hollywood Way are the usual handovers for anyone flying the same day.
Traffic is the local variable. Drivers schedule Westside handovers before nine or after seven, and the 405 through the Sepulveda Pass at rush hour is a reason a pickup runs late. Weather is not. The ports come up because Los Angeles has two; for a domestic shipment they are not involved, and overseas shipping is a separate service.
Belongings stay under about 100 pounds, below the window line, uninsured; on a household move the boxes go with the movers. The FasTrak comes off the windshield. A car leaving California keeps its title and registration with you, and a financed or leased car crosses state lines without lender approval.

Carson, Fontana and Sun Valley load for I-10 and I-40 daily, so we schedule a Los Angeles pickup as a stop on a departing load and quote the short window that goes with it; expedited pickup within 24 hours can often be arranged.
Westside and hillside streets do not suit a hauler. The driver names a lot in Culver City, Glendale, Burbank or on Century Boulevard when the truck is assigned, and confirms the hour the day before.
More cars leave Los Angeles than arrive, and our outbound ranges show the competitive number, before you enter a phone number.

888-706-8784$975–$1,350 to Dallas, $1,450–$2,000 to New York, $1,400–$1,950 to Miami, roughly $1,250–$1,700 to Chicago and $450–$650 to Phoenix for a running sedan on an open carrier. Enclosed adds 40–60%; SUVs and pickups 12–20%.
One to two days. Los Angeles is the largest car-shipping origin in the country, with daily departures east on I-10 and I-40 and carrier yards in Carson, Fontana and Sun Valley.
The Westside, Hollywood, the hillsides, Silver Lake, Echo Park and downtown. The Valley, the South Bay, Long Beach, Orange County and the Inland Empire are direct to the door where the street lets a truck turn.
For domestic shipments the ports are not involved; the car goes door to door on a truck. Overseas shipping through Los Angeles or Long Beach is a separate service and we can point you to a forwarder.
May through August, for relocations out of state. November through February is cheapest apart from the holiday weeks. Inbound to Los Angeles is steady all year.
Not at the terminals. The hotel and long-term lots on Century Boulevard are the usual handover for anyone flying the same day, and drivers know them.
Usually, by $50–$150 on the long lanes. Far more cars leave Los Angeles than arrive, so outbound trucks are full and competitive while inbound loads have space to fill.
