El Paso is the halfway point on the busiest southern lane in the country. Every truck running I-10 between Phoenix and San Antonio passes through, and a good share of them stop, because Fort Bliss generates more permanent-change-of-station vehicle moves than almost any installation in the Southwest. Soldiers and families arrive from Fort Cavazos, Fort Liberty, Fort Campbell, Germany and Korea, and leave for the same, and the summer PCS season is the busiest stretch on the city's calendar.
The rest of the traffic is relocations to the medical and logistics employers on the east side, UTEP students, retirees to the Upper Valley, and cars moving between El Paso and the Texas and Arizona metros. The city is easy for a truck in its newer neighborhoods and tight in its older ones and on the mountain, and the carriers who run I-10 know which is which. The quote form above is set to El Paso; add the other end of the trip and your vehicle for a range.

The east side and the Northeast are driveway pickups. The developments off Montana, Zaragoza and Joe Battle, Horizon City, Socorro, the Northeast off US-54 and the Upper Valley's newer streets take a 75-foot truck wherever the street lets it turn without reversing. Gated communities admit a delivery truck with a call from the resident or meet at the gate; it does not change the price.
Fort Bliss is its own case. A car hauler will not be waved through the gate, so handovers happen just outside: the big-box lots on Montana Avenue and Airway Boulevard are the regulars, and the alternative is your off-base address in the Northeast or on the east side. Drivers on this lane do so many Fort Bliss moves that the gates and their hours are second nature. Put the report date on the booking; orders change, and until a truck is dispatched the dates change with them for free.
The older west side and the mountain are meeting points. Downtown, Sunset Heights, Kern Place and the streets near UTEP are narrow; the neighborhoods climbing the Franklins are too steep for a hauler to stop safely. The driver names a lot on Mesa Street or off I-10. El Paso International's hotel lots on Airway are the usual handover for anyone flying the same day.
Timing is the local variable. El Paso is a pass-through more than a destination, so trucks are often full when they arrive and a pickup can take a day or two longer than in Phoenix or Dallas; booking two weeks ahead solves it. Weather is rarely an issue. Anything in the car beyond a small bag in the trunk is uninsured and may be refused, so the boxes go with the household goods shipment. Peel the base decal before the truck comes.

Soldiers arriving from Cavazos, Liberty and overseas, and leaving for the same, are most of what ships here. The Montana and Airway handovers are planned at booking, and a change of orders is a phone call, not a fee.
Plenty of trucks run I-10 through El Paso full. We assign your shipment to a carrier that has planned an El Paso stop into its load, so the pickup window is days rather than an open-ended wait.
Phoenix, Los Angeles, San Antonio, Dallas and Houston are all on or just off I-10, and the same specialist handles a shipment to any of them.

888-706-8784Roughly $500–$750 from Phoenix, $600–$850 from Dallas, $650–$900 from Los Angeles, $550–$800 from San Antonio and $1,100–$1,500 from Atlanta for a running sedan on an open carrier. Enclosed adds 40–60%; SUVs and pickups 12–20%.
Two to four days. El Paso is on I-10 between Phoenix and San Antonio, so trucks pass through daily, but many are full and the local yards near the Fort Bliss gates are smaller than in the big metros. Book two weeks ahead when you can.
Constantly; Fort Bliss is the largest source of shipments in the city. Carriers do not enter the installation; the driver meets you at a lot outside the gate on Montana or Airway or at your off-base address.
Downtown, Sunset Heights, Kern Place and the older streets on the west side near UTEP, plus the steeper streets on the mountain. The east side, the Northeast, Horizon City, Socorro and the Upper Valley's newer developments are direct to the door.
From Phoenix or Dallas, driving is a long day and shipping costs about the same as fuel plus a night's hotel; most customers drive one car and ship the second. From further away, shipping wins.
Summer, when PCS season peaks. November through February is cheapest apart from the holiday weeks.
Not on a domestic carrier. Cross-border shipments involve customs and a different service; we can point you to one. Within the US, El Paso is served like any other city.

The government ships one privately owned vehicle for OCONUS moves; for CONUS PCS you drive or pay to ship. Second vehicles and most stateside moves are out of pocket, and a monetary allowance may offset part of the cost. Book as soon as orders are in hand.

Your car is covered by the carrier’s cargo insurance while it is on the truck, typically $100,000–$250,000 per load on open carriers and more on enclosed. The Bill of Lading inspection at pickup and delivery is what makes a claim provable.
