Six states on I-95 before the Carolinas
A truck loads across the Boston suburbs, often the North Shore and Metrowest in a morning and the South Shore in the afternoon, then runs I-95 through Providence and Connecticut, crosses New York on I-287, and takes the New Jersey Turnpike south. From there it is I-95 without interruption: Delaware, Baltimore, the Beltway, Richmond, the Carolinas, Georgia, Jacksonville, and down the Florida coast to the last exit. Drivers cover 450 to 550 miles a day; Miami comes on the fifth or sixth day.
The Boston pickup
Inside 128 the driver comes to the door in Newton, Wellesley, Lexington, Needham, Milton and the like. Boston proper, Cambridge, Somerville and Brookline's tighter streets mean a meeting point: lots on Route 1 in Saugus or Dedham, along I-93, or at a mall off 128. Logan's hotel lots on Route 1A work for anyone flying the same day.
The Miami delivery
Condo towers in Brickell, Edgewater, Downtown and Miami Beach open a loading area for twenty minutes with notice, or the driver meets you at a nearby lot. Coral Gables, Pinecrest, Kendall, Doral and Aventura's gated communities are direct to the gate. Port-area deliveries are scheduled early to beat traffic.
