Miami is where the busiest car-shipping corridor in the country runs out of road. Every autumn the trucks that leave New York, New Jersey, Boston, Philadelphia and Chicago work their way down the East Coast and across the Everglades, and Miami-Dade is the last set of drops. Every spring the flow reverses. In between, relocations to the city's finance and tech employers, students at the University of Miami and FIU, military families at Homestead and Southern Command, and buyers collecting cars for Miami's large dealer and export trade keep the lane running all year.
That volume is good for anyone shipping here. Carriers arrive daily, a pickup is usually assigned within one to three days, and prices from the big Northeast and Midwest origins are competitive even in peak season. The complications are local: high-rise towers with loading bays, gated communities from Aventura to Pinecrest, and the port and airport traffic that decides when a driver can get in and out. All of them are routine for the carriers who run the lane, and the rest of this page explains how each is handled. The quote form above is set to Miami; add the other end of the trip and your vehicle for a range.

Where the truck can stop depends on the neighborhood. On the water, Brickell, Downtown, Edgewater, Sunny Isles, Bal Harbour and Miami Beach are towers. Building management will usually open the loading bay for a twenty-minute unload if the resident asks in advance; where it will not, the driver picks a surface lot within a few blocks and the car is driven in. Inland, Coral Gables, Pinecrest, Palmetto Bay, Kendall, Doral, Miami Lakes, Hialeah and the western suburbs are driveway pickups where the street allows a 75-foot truck to turn without reversing. The gated communities in Aventura, Doral and the southwest admit the truck with a call to the gatehouse or meet the driver at the visitor lane.
Timing matters more here than in most cities. The airport area and the port are congested from mid-morning, so drivers schedule those deliveries early. The Julia Tuttle and MacArthur causeways to the Beach are slow at rush hour. And from August through October a hurricane watch can hold a pickup or delivery by a day or two while roads reopen. Carriers wait rather than drive into weather, and nothing is charged for the hold.
Miami customers also ask about the port more than most. For a domestic shipment the port is not involved: the car goes door to door on a truck. Overseas shipping through PortMiami is a different service with different paperwork, and we can point you to a forwarder.

Brickell and Collins Avenue towers each have a loading rule. Your specialist collects the building contact at booking, and the driver names the nearest safe lot in advance when a loading bay is not available.
Miami is the end of the load, and our ranges say so. You see the Miami price for your origin before you give a phone number, not a Jacksonville price that goes up when the carrier is assigned.
If a storm watch moves your delivery, your specialist calls before you have to ask. Reschedules around weather cost nothing, and the driver's number is in your hands from the day the truck is assigned.

One to three days for pickup. Miami is the southern end of the I-95 lane and trucks arrive daily; outbound loads north fill quickly from March through May.
To the building's loading area if management opens it, otherwise to a surface lot within a few blocks. Give the driver the building contact and ask management in advance.
Coral Gables, Pinecrest, Palmetto Bay, Kendall, Doral, Miami Lakes, Aventura and the western suburbs, anywhere a 75-foot truck can turn. Gated communities admit the truck with a call or meet at the visitor lane.
Inbound from November through January, when the season opens. Outbound from mid-March through May, when winter residents go home. Summer is quieter and cheaper in both directions.
For domestic shipments the port is not involved; cars go door to door on trucks. If you are shipping overseas, a different service handles the port, and we can point you to one.
From August through October a storm watch can hold a pickup or delivery by a day or two while roads reopen. Carriers wait rather than drive into it and nothing is charged for the delay.
