Naples is where the Midwest spends the winter. Chicago, Boston, Columbus, Detroit, Minneapolis and the Northeast all send cars here from October to December and take them back from late March, and the community office at half the developments in Collier County has a routine for receiving them. It is the last stop on the Gulf Coast run, delivered after Tampa and Fort Myers and just before the truck crosses Alligator Alley to Miami, which puts it a day later and $50 to $100 higher than the bay area from the same origin.
Two things set Naples apart. Nearly everything is gated, and the gates mostly do not admit a 75-foot truck, so the handover happens at a visitor entrance, a clubhouse lot or a plaza on the Tamiami Trail. And the cars are nicer than average: a large share of shipments here go enclosed, for classics, exotics and daily drivers whose owners would rather not wash off a thousand miles of I-75. The quote form above is set to Naples; add the other end of the trip and your vehicle for a range.

The gate is the whole story. Pelican Bay, Grey Oaks, Fiddler's Creek, Lely, Vineyards, Pelican Marsh, Tiburón, the Quarry, the developments off Immokalee Road and along Collier Boulevard, and most of Bonita Springs and Estero restrict commercial trucks. Drivers know this and arrange to meet at the visitor gate, the clubhouse parking lot or a shopping plaza on US-41 or Pine Ridge Road, and the car is driven the last mile. Old Naples and the streets west of US-41 near the beach are narrow and lined with landscaping; the driver names a lot on Fifth Avenue South or at the Coastland Center. Marco Island's bridges take a hauler but the island's streets do not; most carriers meet on the mainland.
Receiving without the owner is routine. Most seasonal residents ship the car a week before they fly and have the community office, a property manager or a neighbor meet the driver. Name them at booking, send them the pickup photographs and the bill of lading, and give them the driver's number; they inspect, sign and pay any balance in the form agreed.
Timing follows the calendar. Southbound trucks arrive from mid-October and are busiest in November and December; northbound loads fill from late March. Book two to three weeks ahead in both seasons. From August through October a Gulf storm can hold a delivery by a day or two; carriers wait and nothing is charged. Southwest Florida International in Fort Myers is the nearest airport handover, using the hotel lots on Daniels Parkway.

Pelican Bay, Grey Oaks, Fiddler's Creek and the rest each have a visitor entrance, a clubhouse lot that may or may not allow a hauler, and a plaza on the Trail as the fallback. Your specialist confirms which applies when the truck is assigned.
Naples ships enclosed more than almost anywhere. Before you book, your specialist checks that a hard-sided carrier with a liftgate is available on the Gulf Coast lane for your dates, so a classic or an exotic is not waiting a week for a trailer.
Community offices and property managers can receive the car for you. Your specialist sets it up at booking, with the pickup photos and the driver's number in the receiver's hands, so the keys are waiting when you arrive.

Rarely. Most Naples communities restrict commercial trucks, so the driver meets you at the visitor gate, the clubhouse lot or a plaza on US-41 and you drive the last stretch. It does not change the price.
