Every car hauler entering Florida from the Northeast comes down I-95 through Jacksonville, and most entering from Texas and the Gulf Coast come in on I-10 and meet I-95 here. That makes Jacksonville the first stop in the state on almost every southbound load and one of the fastest, cheapest places in Florida to ship a car. A pickup is typically assigned within a day or two, and prices from the northern origins run $50 to $100 below Orlando and Tampa because the truck has not yet spent a day working down the peninsula.
The customers are a mix the rest of Florida does not quite have. Navy families at NAS Jacksonville and Mayport on permanent change of station orders, the largest source of shipments in the city. Relocations to the financial and logistics employers on the Southside. Families moving into St. Johns County and Nocatee. Students at UNF and Jacksonville University. And dealers and buyers moving cars through Jacksonville's auction lanes and the port. The quote form above is set to Jacksonville; add the other end of the trip and your vehicle for a range.

The city is large and mostly suburban, which suits a 75-foot truck. The Southside, Mandarin, Baymeadows, Arlington, the Westside, Orange Park, Fleming Island, St. Johns, Nocatee and Ponte Vedra's newer developments are driveway pickups where the street lets the truck turn. Riverside, Avondale, San Marco and Springfield have older, narrower streets with cars parked on both sides and usually mean a lot on a main road. The beaches, Jacksonville Beach, Neptune Beach and Atlantic Beach, are direct on the wider streets and a meeting point on the tighter ones near the ocean.
The Navy installations set their own rules. Carriers do not enter NAS Jacksonville or Mayport; the driver meets you at a lot outside the gate or at your off-base address, and your specialist arranges the spot when the truck is assigned. PCS moves are common enough here that drivers know the gates and the lots nearby.
Timing is easy in Jacksonville. Traffic is lighter than the rest of Florida's big cities, the bridges over the St. Johns rarely delay a driver for long, and the airport's hotel lots off Airport Road are a simple handover for anyone flying the same day. Hurricane season from August through October can hold a delivery by a day; carriers wait and nothing is charged.
Belongings and paperwork are the last two questions. Keep personal items under about 100 pounds, below the window line, and understand they are not insured; on a PCS move the household goods shipment takes the boxes. The driver needs a key and a photo ID at pickup, nothing more; the title stays with you, a financed car needs no lender approval to cross state lines, and Florida registration is your errand after delivery.

The government ships one privately owned vehicle for OCONUS moves; for CONUS PCS you drive or pay to ship. Second vehicles and most stateside moves are out of pocket, and a monetary allowance may offset part of the cost. Book as soon as orders are in hand.

Your car is covered by the carrier’s cargo insurance while it is on the truck, typically $100,000–$250,000 per load on open carriers and more on enclosed. The Bill of Lading inspection at pickup and delivery is what makes a claim provable.
