The Villages receives more cars from the Northeast and the Midwest each fall than any single city of its size, and returns them each spring. New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Ohio and Illinois all ship here in volume, and the community's location between I-75 and the Florida Turnpike means both the Midwest and Northeast lanes pass within a few miles. It is a two-to-three-day pickup in season and priced in the middle of the Florida ranges, between Orlando and the Gulf Coast.
What is different here is the streets. Much of The Villages is built for golf carts, with narrow lanes, roundabouts and tunnels that a 75-foot car hauler cannot use, so delivery happens at a meeting point rather than a driveway: a plaza on US-441, US-301 or CR-466, one of the town-square lots, or the carrier yards in Wildwood or Ocala on I-75. Drivers know the community and have regular spots. The quote form above is set to The Villages; add the other end of the trip and your vehicle for a range.

The meeting point is decided when the truck is assigned, not on the day. The usual ones are the big-box plazas along US-441 near Lady Lake and Summerfield, the shopping centers on CR-466 and CR-466A, the lots at Spanish Springs, Lake Sumter Landing and Brownwood town squares outside event hours, and the carrier yards off I-75 at Wildwood and Ocala for customers who prefer to drive the last fifteen minutes. The villages closest to US-301 and the Turnpike, Fenney, Sumter and the southern districts, are sometimes reached directly on the wider spine roads; your specialist tells you which applies.
Most deliveries here happen without the owner. Residents ship the car a week or two before they fly down and have a neighbor, the villa manager or a friend already in residence meet the driver. Name them at booking, send them the pickup photographs and the bill of lading, and give them the driver's number. They inspect the car, sign, and drive it the last mile.
Golf carts come up on every call. A car hauler carries vehicles with a VIN, so an ordinary cart cannot ride along; a street-legal LSV with a VIN sometimes can as a second vehicle, and your specialist will check with the carrier. For an ordinary cart, a separate freight shipment is the answer. Orlando International is the usual airport handover, about 75 minutes away; some customers use Tampa or Orlando Sanford. From August through October a storm can hold a delivery by a day; carriers wait and nothing is charged.

A hauler does not belong in a roundabout. The handover is on 441, at a town square or at the Wildwood yard, and you are told the spot and the driver's number when the truck is assigned.
Whether the car is coming down I-75 from Michigan or the Turnpike from New York, the same specialist handles it, and both routes pass The Villages before the Gulf Coast or South Florida.
Most Villages deliveries are received by someone other than the owner. Your specialist sets that up at booking so the pickup photos, the paperwork and the driver's number are in the right hands before the truck arrives.

Two to three days. The community sits between I-75 and the Turnpike, so both the Midwest and Northeast lanes pass close by, but the golf-cart streets mean a meeting point rather than a driveway.

Not on a car hauler; they carry vehicles with a VIN. Street-legal LSVs with a VIN can sometimes ride as a second vehicle. Ask your specialist and have the cart's paperwork handy.
Inbound from October through December, outbound from late March through early May. The Villages has more year-round residents than most snowbird destinations, so summer stays active.
Orlando International is the usual one, about 75 minutes away, using the hotel lots on the Semoran corridor. Some customers use Tampa or Orlando Sanford instead.
